There are many choices out there when it comes to surfaces for your home: Synthetics, natural stone, engineered products. Knowing the pros and cons to the materials you use in your home gives you the advatage of knowing ahead of time what to expect from the option you do decide.
Which one do you like more aesthetically?
Some people like the consistent appearance of quartz, other people like the natural inconsistencies of granite. A quartz countertop is man-made, but it's 95% mother nature made quartz. It's a lot closer to being natural then a laminate or solid surface counter top. I don't think the day to day care is that different between the two, but the granite does require occasional sealing.
